How to Play Circuit Bloom: Rotate, Pulse and Bridge
Learn Circuit Bloom’s mirrored 7×7 boards, tile rotation, four-second energy pulses, central Bridge and 1v1 or 2v2 routing tactics.
What is Circuit Bloom?
Circuit Bloom is a free real-time online circuit puzzle for 1v1 and 2v2. Each side receives a mirrored deterministic 7×7 board. Energy leaves the source every four seconds, follows the connections that exist at that moment and scores newly powered blooms.
Rotate tiles to build a route before the next pulse. Commit the central Bridge on cooldown when a high-value shared connection is ready. The higher score after 50 seconds wins. A tie continues until the next new bloom for at most eight seconds, then becomes a draw.
This guide explains how to read tiles, plan around pulse timing and coordinate a 2v2 board. When published, open Circuit Bloom to try the opening routine.
Mirrored means a fair puzzle, not an identical view
The two sides begin from deterministic mirrored layouts. Each has the same routing challenge from the opposite orientation. Random client state cannot give one player an easier private board because the server owns the layout, rotations, pulses and score.
Read from the powered source outward. A connected shape near a distant bloom is irrelevant if energy cannot reach it from the root. Trace one continuous route with your eyes, stop at the first broken joint and rotate that joint before inspecting farther cells.
Avoid trying to solve all 49 tiles. Many pieces are distractions or future options. The immediate goal is one new powered bloom on the next useful pulse.
Tile rotation is a commitment
Use WASD or the arrow keys to move the board cursor, then press Space to rotate the selected tile. On touch, tap a tile to select and rotate it. Each input turns the piece by one step.
Before rotating, identify the required entry and exit directions. A corner tile that needs to connect west and north has one useful orientation; turning quickly without that plan can pass the correct state and require another full cycle.
The server validates the chosen cell and orientation. A last-frame browser animation cannot invent a connection after the pulse has already been judged.
Plan around the four-second pulse
The pulse timer is the central clock. A route does not score merely because it looks connected between pulses. It must be valid when energy actually leaves the source and travels across the board.
Early in the four-second window, make the larger route decision. In the final moment, verify the first joint near the source. One incorrect early tile can prevent energy from reaching every correct piece beyond it.
If the route will not be ready, stop rotating unrelated cells. Preserve a useful partial path for the following pulse instead of scrambling the entire board and losing the work already completed.
Newly powered blooms create score
A bloom scores when a valid energy route powers it for the first time. Repeating the same safe connection can confirm the board state but does not replace the value of reaching a new target.
Choose the next bloom by route cost. A nearby target that requires two clear turns may be stronger than a high-looking branch with six uncertain joints. During the final pulses, compare the scoreboard and take the shortest realistic new route.
At the 50-second horn, the higher score wins. An exact tie enters next-bloom sudden death. Existing powered blooms do not break it; one side must create a genuinely new powered bloom within eight seconds or the match is a draw.
What the central Bridge does
Press E or use the Bridge button to arm the central Bridge on its visible cooldown. When a later pulse reaches the center, the armed Bridge is consumed and adds a 225-point team bonus.
Do not arm Bridge simply because it is ready. Trace the source-to-center path first and identify where energy should leave the center. An unconnected approach leaves the Bridge waiting, but it also blocks another activation until the route reaches it.
The opposing side has the same published Bridge rule. Watch the score rather than assuming your activation is uncontested; both teams can prepare a strong central pulse under equal conditions.
1v1 board management
In 1v1, scan in layers. First check the source, then the first branch, then the target bloom. Keep the cursor near the unresolved joint so the next rotation does not require a long trip across the 7×7 board.
You cannot disrupt the opponent’s tiles directly. Racing comes from making better decisions under the same pulse clock, not from hiding or changing their controls. Ignore a fast early score if your own clean route is one rotation from completion.
2v2 coordination
In 2v2, divide the board into practical regions rather than both selecting the same tile. One teammate can own the source half while the other prepares the target side. Shared junctions need a clear plan because one player may rotate a tile the other already aligned.
Use the pulse as a communication rhythm. With two seconds left, stop redesigning the route and verify each region. When Bridge is planned, one player prepares the entrance and the other prepares the exit.
There is no need for permanent roles. After a bloom activates, whoever is closer to the next broken joint can take the lead.
Matchmaking and AI players
Instant Match searches for people and may fill open seats with clearly labelled AI. Bots receive the same mirrored layout, pulse schedule, rotation rules and Bridge cooldown. Matches are unranked.
Human Only never inserts AI and waits for a complete 1v1 or 2v2 field. Private invitations and parties are outside the promised first-release scope.
A first-board routine
Find the source and trace toward the closest reachable bloom. Rotate only the first broken joint, then trace again. Watch the four-second countdown and verify the source side before the pulse. Save Bridge until both its entry and exit are connected.
The beginner rhythm is trace, rotate, verify, pulse. One complete route is worth more than several attractive fragments.
